The statutory minimum hourly wage goes up from €13.68 to €14.06 gross on 1 January 2025. The gross reference monthly wage will be €2,191.80 gross per month as of 1 January 2025. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment sets the level of the statutory minimum wage every year on 1 January and 1 July.
For employees aged 15 years and above, the following amounts apply:
- 21 years: percentage of minimum wage 100%: €14.06 per hour
- 20 years: percentage of minimum wage 80%: €11.25 per hour
- 19 years: percentage of minimum wage 60%: €8.44 per hour
- 18 years: percentage of minimum wage 50%: €7.03 per hour
- 17 years: percentage minimum wage 39.5%; €5.55 per hour
- 16 years: percentage minimum wage 34.5%: €4.85 per hour
- 15 years: percentage minimum wage 30%: €4.22 per hour
BBL apprentices
The amounts below apply to students in vocational training (BBL) aged 18 to 20:
- 20 years: percentage minimum wage 61.5%: €8.65 per hour
- 19 years: percentage minimum wage 52.5%: €7.38 per hour
- 18 years: percentage minimum wage 45.5%: €6.40 per hour
